100 Pieces of Me

100 Pieces of Me

|25.Jan.2007

The 100th day of school is just around the corner. Meredith came home with a note requesting that each student either bring in 100 of any object OR they could do an art project.

Of course we opted for the art project!

Meredith selected one of her favorite pictures of herself and we measured it out and cut it into 100 pieces.

Then, we covered a foam core board with wrapping paper, flipped it over and began to lay out all the pieces in order.

Wanting to give it dimension, we cut out small pieces of the foam core board and glued it to the back of some of the picture pieces, then to the back board.

Meredith is thrilled with it. She’s certain no one else will have done the same thing.

It took about an hour from start to finish. It gave me a few ideas about doing this with some black and white photos and framing it sort of shadow box style (we just printed ours out on regular printer paper for this school project).

I would LOVE that … then you can boot out the woman that lives on the right. We’re quite certain she sucks on aspirin or lemons every morning.

How amazingly creative. I wish I was as creative as you. I’m sure all of Meredith’s class will think it is absolutely the coolest project for 100th day by far.

    That’s a great project!

What a cute project. I’d trade creativity for folded laundry anyday!

  • OMSH

coolbeans – well then you’d fit in right well here. Most of the time the laundry is on the way to being folded (as discussed on your blog) or mildewing away forgotten in the washing machine.

That’s really fun! She should hang it in her room when she gets it back (with an A+)!

That is so creative! I love it. I would love to copy this idea soon. What size did you blow the picture up to? Thanks!

This is so very cute! Love your idea! Did you just print the photo out on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper and then cut it or did you do like 8 x 8 so all the squares would be the same? Thanks!
