One of the perks of being an editor over at Kirtsy, other than being in the midst of some ultra-cool, super-savvy, amazing women editors, is the occasional sweet surprises that arrive from generous store owners.
A couple of days ago a package arrived from the online boutique, All About Cute.
Now, I realize I’m considered back-woods living in my ‘smallish’ hick town – and I gladly assume that role knowing it gives me every excuse in the world not to be ‘edgy’ and ‘hip’ when I show up for things like Blogher ’09 or the Mom 2.0 Summit.
Still, I know a stylish gift when I get it – and my new Orla Kiely wallet and Cara Lyndon Black Bird Necklace?
They could single-handedly save me from fashion accessory disaster.
The wallet is compact. It is also very well-made, hardy, colorful, RETRO and orange (enough said).

I ‘moved-in’ immediately – and never looked back at my has-been wallet with the loose snap and fraying edges.
Nope, not even once.
What’s more? It matches my favorite tote I use day in and day out. Oh, and my front door – it matches it too.
We all know the ultimate accessory faux pas is failing to match one’s front door.
Orange.
Such a fabulous color.
