I seriously don’t want y’all coveting after my digs, so I’m gonna give you a chance to win a Superhero necklace design of your choice. That’s right, if you win, you’ll get a FREE Superhero necklace of your choice (a $109.00 value) plus Andrea, the Superhero designer and blogger, will ship for FREE!
Did I mention the whole stinkin’ thing is FREE?!
So what is the contest?
Glad you asked. My mother, Izzy, wants to rename her business, currently named Cowgirl Fever.
Izzy wants to break off the beaten path and needs a unique business name that doesn’t limit her design ideas, but at the same time, gives at least a hint of an idea of what she sells.
Right now the business name is all about cowgirls. Though she certainly still wants the name to have a western flair, she doesn’t want it to specify that she ONLY offers western clothing. Instead, she wants to leave room for any gypsy or bohemian touches she dreams up. In other words, her design visions are unique and a bit outside of the rodeo “box”. While they can still be paired with boots and a cowboy hat, maybe not always – perhaps a head scarf and a low slung beaded belt would do better.
Criteria for Consideration
- The business name must be available to register as a domain name in both .com and .net.
- The business name must be available for use on ebay.
- The business name must be available for use on a flickr account.
- The business name must NOT contain the words “cowgirl”,”fever”, or “girls”.

Please feel free to click thru and view previous Cowgirl Fever auction photos for inspiration or just scroll down for a sampling.
Remember, Izzy’s future work may deviate somewhat to weave in a more gypsy or bohemian style at times, as mentioned above. Try not to focus on the titles if you click thru to flickr as they were written for the specific auction and not a reflection of what we’d like to see in a future business name.
How to Enter
Place your business name suggestion in a comment below. You may offer as many names as you’d like for your chance to win.
The contest will run until 11:59 PM (CST) Thursday (8/23/2007). At that point I will close comments and the winner will be announced by Monday morning (8/27/2007).
We may or may not use the name submitted by the winner, but our favorite will still win the Superhero necklace of their choice whether their suggested name is used or not.
So get after it.
Help us brainstorm as our brains are about as murky as a dry water creek.
How to search names on ebay or flickr
eBay:
- Go to ebay.com.
- Click on “Advanced Search” to the right of the search button on the yellow navigation bar up top.
- Click on “Find a Member” in the left menu bar (within the “Search” table)
- “Enter User ID or email address of member ” and click submit.
- If there is a member with that name, it’ll show.
flickr:
- Go to flickr.com.
- Enter the name of your choice in the search box in top right hand corner.
- Click on the grey down arrow to the right of the search button and select “Flickr Members” to search flickr members.
- If there is a member by that name they’ll show up.
