Couch Recovery

Couch Recovery

|19.Jan.2007

I’m going to slipcover my couch. I’m insane. I haven’t anything yet to post to show you WHY I’m going to slipcover my couch. I. JUST. AM. Maybe tomorrow (which is today) I’ll take pictures. Maybe.

I’ll start with cheap (and I do mean cheap) muslin and then pin, pin, pin. And perhaps, if I am very lucky, I will remember how to “form fit” back from my costume construction classes in the not-so-liberal-artsy university I attended.

The couch is currently a sort of forest green wool with a very subtle, but still there, stripe.

I have NO idea what I want for it, but it must hide both light and dark dog hair, cat hair, coffee spills and be washable. I know – I’ve always been impossible – consider it a personality fault.

Oh, and it can’t be wool – oh no, because that stuff itches AND come summer time, it makes my legs sweat. Nothing like sweating behind-the-knees in the summer months. Bleh.

So, tomorrow if my battery is charged I will post the picture of our foster dog’s friendly tug of war with the couch’s backside and THEN … THEN … I’ll perhaps jot down a time when this event will take place.

Did I mention I still need to paint Kenny’s room?

And design Valentine’s Day Cards?

And create my own little non-ONEYE (b/c those are copyrighted, of course) for my girls?

Oh my stinkin’ heck – someone left the freezer door open. OH.JOY.

G’night.

Good luck on the couch recovering. I had a hand-me-down couch that was a “lovely” pink floral that I recovered with leopard print. I just did it with a staple gun because I didn’t have a sewing machine, it was a cheap couch and I knew I wouldn’t keep the couch for very long. It was kind of fun. I’m excited to see your project.

Oh “said” foster is gone, gone, gone.
In addition to tearing up the couch, she peed and peed and peed endless amounts and dug a hole to China in our backyard.

    Actually several holes.

I feel for you about the freezer! Last summer, we banned anyone under the age of 30 from going within 4′ of the ‘fridge for exactly that open-door reason.

Comment if ya wanna.
