OMSH Seven Days, Day 2

Days 2 and 5 of the 7 Days flickr group have a theme; today’s theme was Treat. With two new pups ransacking our schedules with gooey, gumpdrop goodness, I originally thought a photo with me and my two newest “treats” would be ideal, but that quickly changed when Jeff suggested an afternoon ride.

Just the two of us.
On the Harley.

And then?
The word treat took on a whole new meaning.

Jeff rode a bike when we met. I remember him sauntering into our English course with those startlingly blue eyes, fabulous jawline, and a helmet tucked under one arm.

Bad boy with blue eyes?
I was smitten – or maybe I was overcome with lust…

Either way, it worked.

So when I hop behind him on his Hog, and we wind in and out of the hills of East Texas, its a sweet, sweet time.

Please excuse me if this sounds akin to a cheesy commercial, but the reason I love it so much…the reason it is such a treat…is because it’s just me, him, our thoughts and the road.

How often does a mom of three get that?
Not enough.
TREAT indeed.

I have a Harley riding daddy and mama! They love it, only mama tends to complain that her seat is too small. Daddy owns a 1955 hard tail Harley. I suppose the hard tail part is the issue with mama!

In that photo you can TOTALLY tell that Meredith gets her eyes from her Daddy!!!

    Also, sounds perfect :)

    What a gorgeous couple.

Fabulous photo of both of you. What a wonderful treat for the two of you to have together. I hope you get another ride in soon.

How fast memories fade as one ages and you’re only 37. Because it seems to me that you didn’t like your current husband much before he became your current husband. In fact, your A&M professor forced you two together to complete a project … didn’t you beg your professor for someone else? Oh, but the original motorcycle was a bit of a fairy tale in that it did leave it’s own bread crumb trails everywhere, only they were a bit darker. All that to say, God is good and we are certainly glad he did turn this whole tale into a sweet ride for the both of you and for us, as well. We couldn’t be prouder!

P.S., the lust thing is just TMI, MY daughter doesn’t lust.

Oh you’re definitely right on one front Dad – I didn’t LIKE the boy, but I certainly always loved the way he looked. Heh heh

Oh yes, that Yamaha was a PIECE! Oil everywhere. Blerggh. :)

But the feel of being on it was always cool – y’know, like that time we came home to Houston in the pouring rain. That felt OH SO GOOD.

Such a wonderful picture of the two of you. Sounds like a perfect “treat”.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I don’t know how you can ride with him. My husband loves riding his motorcycle and has convinced me a couple of times to ride with him, but the whole time I’m just screaming in his ear, “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SLOW DOWN!”

I wish we lived some place warme for many reasons…riding the motorcycle is one of them. Glad you had a nice afternoon ride.
