Feeling Like a Queen in the King Tower Suite, Oklahoma City

As promised yesterday, I want to show some shots of the King Tower Suite Jeff and I are staying in at the Cambria Suites in Oklahoma City.

My parents first stayed in one of the King Tower Suites in San Antonio, TX. Then, on my Daddy’s last business trip, he discovered the Cambria Suites here in OKC offers the same tower rooms. After he and Mom stayed in this same room last week, he secured the room for Jeff and I to enjoy this weekend; he spoils us rotten!

Jeff and I began our marriage pushing through his Masters program and a year later, having Emelie; needless to say, our traveling experience as a couple was/is limited. That said, we wouldn’t change a thing. In the last 15 years our lives have been enriched by our three children, our struggles, our victories, our convictions, our friendship, and an intimate love that binds it all together.

Speaking of intimacy, let’s start with one of the more important features in any hotel room, the bed.

Tucked into the corner of the suite, the queen size bed is surrounded on two sides with walls of 6 foot high windows. The natural light pours in for a clean, fresh, airy feel to the room.

King Tower Suites - Bed

The sleeping and living areas are divided with an aesthetic wall “cut-out” set with contemporary vases. In my opinion, this kind of attention to detail is what makes the difference in a hotel room.

King Tower Suites - Desk

The desk area on the other side of the wall cut-out has plenty of plugs for chargers and computers, as well as an ethernet connection (though the room is set up with the hotel’s wifi).

Had to bring the Macbook.

The perfect place to set up my Macbook.

Jeff takes to the couch.

On the other side of the living space is a sitting area; the space is large enough for a couch and ottoman strategically set across from a 32″ flat screen hung on the wall. There is another flat screen on the dresser across from the bed. Smart, eh?

King Tower Suites - Bathroom

Last, but not least is the bathroom. LOVE the monotone colors and the raised basin on the vanity.

The only hotel room I’ve been in that I’ve enjoyed as much was the room I shared with Jessica at W Hotels in Chicago at Blogher ’07.

Of course, no offense to Jessica (and I know she’ll understand – and agree), but I definitely prefer to share a room with Jeff.

I’m just saying…

I thought you might like to know that today’s Groupon deal in OKC is for the Cambria Suites. For $69.00 you get a king or queen suite and a $20.00 food voucher for their bistro restaurant. :) I’m an Okie, ya know and love Bricktown. The deal expires at midnight tonight but the certificate doesn’t expire until March 31, 2011.
