Nine o' Clock

Last night after prayers Jeff never came out of the girls room. Not too much later Emelie came out and said, “Momma, Daddy is asleep with Meredith.” The combined snores of Meredith and Jeff were hard to miss resonating through the walls.

I went in to stir him and came back out to grab my camera.

When I remember my childhood I remember a lot of bedtime moments. I remember my dad telling stories of his time at Basic Training. I remember how sometimes he’d play the harmonica or the few times he’d pull out the accordion in the living room. I remember mom’s sweet kisses and how she’d calmly tuck me in all nice and neat only to be mussed-up a few seconds later by my dad and his ear whispers and tickles. Those are amazing, close-knit moments that tied heart strings to my parents that have lasted through the years.

This picture reminds me of heartstrings.
I want to see more heartstring photos; photos that show intimacy in the relationship between parents and children. Let’s have one big ol’ heart hugathon of links in the comments.

Pretty please?
Honestly, I think it’ll make me get better faster if y’all would make my main valve all warm and toasty.
