Pain pain go away...

I just want to thank the good Lord above for pharmaceuticals.

For the first time today (all day), I slept for more than 2 hours and didn’t feel like a crowbar was wedged between my shoulder and my neck. Mr. OMSH took me to the doctor, took me to Walgreens and then took the kids out of the house.

And I rested.

I’m on the road to recovery with pain meds, antibiotics, muscle relaxers, steroids and chocolate covered espresso beans.

    mmmmm…. espresso beans!

    (get well soon Heather!)

I truly did not know there were pharmaceuticals that could touch nerve pain.Only some that can knock you out for a while. When I had sciatica, it was horrid. And I was afraid I would become addicted to meds. Catch 22, anyone?

In wishing for your speedy healing OMSH, I eat these lovely See’s Candy chocolates I found that were somehow neglected this past Christmas! Feel Better!

Gotta love those chocolate covered expresso beans…they work wonders. Take care of yourself. Glad to see you’re not afraid to medicate yourself though.

That Flexoril? The cyclobenzaprine? Marvy! I have to take it before bed, though, because it knocks me out. I hope you feel better soon!

  • Mrs. Wilson

I think the chocolate covered espresso beans are my favorite!!

  • bethany actually

I am glad you’ve been able to get some large chunks of sleep! And bless Mr. OMSH for chauffeuring you around and getting the kids out of the house. Feel better-er!

  • Melissa

OOOhhh. I’m a fan of the flexeril, too. I have an Rx on hand for spasms, plus it’s a nice sleep inducer. Hope you’re feeling better. And don’t forget the acidopholis (sp?) for the probiotics so no yeasty-beasties hang out.

Woohoo! God bless good meds. Glad you were able to get some decent sleep.

  • Angella

    Hooray for meds!

I was incapacitated a few weeks ago with back pain so I feel your, um, PAIN.

    xoxoxo

  • Jummy

I hope you feel 100% soon, OMSH.

And yes, thank God for pharmaceuticals!

  • Shannon

Oh, I hope you feel better soon. Lord know I wish I did. I am up because I have a masive headache.

  • Nicki

I didn’t realize until I herneated a disc in my back how debilitating chronic pain can be. It can make a perfectly nice person into a grouchy zombie. I hope you heal up soon!

Good gosh lady!!! Hope the dope works!

Honey, you might want to consider getting new alcohol….that bottle looks at least 25 years old.

Chocolate covered coffee beans…….that is my therapy!

witchypoo – I have pulled some muscles that are apparently rolling over some nerves or something like that. All I know is I hurt and the muscle relaxers help.

Melissa – Anytime I take antibiotics I begin prepping for yeast infections; the two walk hand in hand. But thanks for the reminder!

Angella – It is HORRIBLE, is it not? Uggh.

Nicki – I was just telling Jeff that I got a glimpse of what it would be like to live with ongoing pain; not a good life.

chocolatechic – Hey now, I just bought that at Walgreens. It is Wintergreen alcohol for a rub. You dissolve aspirin in Wintergreen Alcohol, add in Wintergreen essential oil and voila! Instant soothing body rub for ouchy muscles.

Never, never underestimate the power of chocolate covered espresso beans. They are magic!

I’m glad you’re getting some much needed relief! Here’s to a full and quick recovery!

  • Mr. OMSH

You know you live in a strange society when you pay more for chocolate covered coffee beans than you do the artificial, manufactured medications. A simple observation.

    **PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT**

OMSH is feeling better–she’s mocking my air guitar rendition of Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive.” I swear some people have no class OR appreciate the arts.

  • OMSH

I’d make excuses for Mr. OMSH, but there really are none to be made.

  • She Likes Purple

I read “antibiotics” as “alcohol” and I thought, “just what I would’ve perscribed.”

Good thing I work in publishing, right?
