Pink Panne velvet, chiffon and tulle
|4.Oct.2007Remember the Be a Superhero and Win a Necklace giveaway I had a few weeks back? My mother, Izzy, selected Girl con Queso‘s entry, Gypsy Feather, as the winner.
Now don’t go looking for her new website yet – I’m not THAT good of a daughter plus, I can’t even find time to get my new design going (The whole “cobbler’s kids have no shoes” story applies very well here.), but definitely go and look at Gypsy Rose, mom’s first auction under her new name, Gypsy Feather.
If you love pink, fancy head scarfs and whimsical custom made girls clothing, it’ll be eye candy for the soul.
Because her model is my Meredith, I don’t think y’all will be too surprised that I feel the need to post a few of my favorite photos.
Like this one, which we kept calling the “Girl with a Pearl” photo (disregard the fact that she’s dressed as a gypsy and is wearing hoop earrings). Bethany Actually pointed out that it is quite “Vermeer-ish” and I have to agree.
Y’all know how I’m just a tad bit detailed? How I even need the “unseen things” to be nice and neat? Yes, well just who do you think passed on that sickness blessing? You got it – my mom, Izzy. It is an understatement to say that this outfit will be perfectly sewn to fit any girl in size 4 to 10.
My favorite part of the outfit on Meredith is the head scarf; it has beaded crystal drops sewn to the ends and is made of the same chiffon sewn on the skirt’s ruffled hemlines.
Meredith’s favorite part of modeling the outfit was twirling in the skirt. Oh, and that she was able to put on lipstick, wear large hoops and tons of necklaces. Around and around she twirled while I popped off photo after photo. I’m prone to that, y’know.
I love this outfit. From the swarovski crystals and accent beading, to the pink leather ties on the silver belt, Gypsy Rose is going to emphasize some little girl’s innate beauty! And the panne stretch velvet? Perfectly non-restrictive, but soft and shiny.
