Sanders Artwork in the House

Last night we attended the Huntsville Independent School District’s Western Art Show. Both girls’ artwork stood to represent their school for their age group. Both girls were awarded first place blue ribbons.

This is quite a recognition as there are 5 elementary schools represented in our city.

Hot...hot...hot

Meredith’s work and her first place ribbon. I can’t tell you how many times I said, “Can I have a real smile please?” when trying to get a shot off of her.

And a close-up of the cowboy.

Today is another early release day. I swear the kids are in school less and less. What’s up with that? Ice Days, Teacher In Service Days, Teacher Education Days, Holidays, There May Be Inclement Weather Days, We Don’t Want Your Kids Days … they are out of school more than they are in.

What a lovely, lovely job they both did. Definitely blue-ribbon worthy!

    Hey thanks!

Jodi I went to comment on your header at your blog. DIED laughing at that one. I’m not a Xanga member, so I couldn’t comment, but wanted to let you know.

    Thank you. :)

I’m hoping to go to a ice fishing tournament in two weeks, where the frozen lake is like a mini-town with about fifty ice shanties. It’s awesome.

    Those are both amazing. Wow.

How exciting to have them both win! And how thoughtful of the district to give them a little extra time to celebrate at home. :/ Our schools are out to lunch for the entire month of November here. The kids only attend about 12 days in the month, five of which are half days! It drives me nuts – what do families with their kids if both parents work out of the house?

Those are awesome. I’m so impressed with your kids’ talents.

Thanks for all the kudos for the girls – I’ll be sure they get them. I can’t draw a lick – seriously, not at ALL … so it thrills me to have them be so creative!

    Congratulations to the girls!
