Saturday on the porch...

Dumb Chicago song rewrites are indicative of my absolutely deranged mindset this morning. I wouldn’t even be on here except that I have a ton of new photos to share – AND I promised a porch shot.

So now that my camera’s battery has been charged…I posted a shot of what charges my battery.

*ahem*

Back to the porch shots.

I'm dreaming of BBQ.

I’d like this shot a lot better if the BBQ pit grill (I had to correctly name it “grill” as Mr. OMSH has said only YANKEES say BBQ pit for a grill) was back in place and I had removed the plastic “tub” we use to scoop water out of the holes next to the house (yes, gutters are next … but everything costs MONEY!). The good news is that the water makes a sort of water trough for the chickens. The bad news is that it can do the same thing for mosquito larvae. Blech. And so? We scoop and toss, scoop and toss…about as desperately as if we were on a sinking boat.

Geez, can I chase rabbits are what? Didn’t I warn you of my mental health this morning?

Okay, back to the newly covered porch.

Here’s another view

Our new COVERED back porch.

Let’s not forget the new furniture…

Look! We can all 5 fit with a seat for one more!

…that we thoroughly enjoyed this lazy Saturday morning.

Nightshirt + Bagle = Lazy Saturday Morning

Don’t mind the thighs – they’ve rivaled Mary Lou Retton since I pushed my way out of my momma. Unfortunately, I can’t really call them thunder thighs as they aren’t even a smidgeon muscular these days. There’s hope for the future … but not so long as my Saturday mornings are spent sitting here.

Saturday morning on the new porch.

And staring at this.

Again - delicous.

Need I remind you guys again about the contest? I have no use for TWO Safety Girl Roadside Emergency Kits … and so far the last two categories are untouched.

Have a good Saturday. Need to find Mr. OMSH. I’m sure he’ll roll his eyes at me when he sees I’ve posted his hind-end.

I like MY Honey’s hiney too. Sweet porch! You are SO BRAVE for having a glass top. Mine would be smudge free for about, oh, TWO SECONDS!

    :)

  • OMSH

Angella – I NEVER anticipate for it to be smudge free. I want smudges … lots and lots of smudges. It says, “I’m used … I’m loved … I didn’t cost a ridiculous amount of money for nothing!”

  • Sarah

That is an unbelievably beautiful porch cover thing. Wow.
And my husband would do SO much more than roll his eyes!

Your patio is gorgeous! I love your furniture too. I’ve been making a point to sit out on my patio for a half hour or so each day to read lately. I’ve decided that I need a better chair than my folding lawn chair. (That really belongs to my parents.)

  • KYouell

It’s all lovely and I’m jealous. Well, except for the heinie part because I’ve got a very nice one to look at over here. :-)

  • kerflop

Wait. WHAT? This is your “shed” roofing? That looks like it was built when the house was built. It looks awesome. I am jumping on IM to pick your brain. With chopsticks.

  • Annika

Hmm. I am a Yankee and the only thing I have ever referred to as a barbecue pit is a barbecue pit.

  • OMSH

Thanks for all the compliments – it is so nice and cool under there – even in today’s heat which nearly took Mr. OMSH down while he was mowing.

kerfloopity – I’ll catch you on IM.

Annika – I was calling it a BBQ and Mr. OMSH corrected me to call it a “grill” At least I didn’t say … “That thing you put the chicken on to burn.” *ahem*

Joking – he’s never (okay once) burned chicken.

  • MR. OMSH

What is it with butts…even though none you guys call them that? I just have to announce to the world, that the battery charging picture was airbrushed. I don’t even own a pair of shorts like that. I AM seeking legal representation. And soon OMSHville we be mine….ALL MINE…bwahahaha…

    PS–we love the porch.

  • Sarah

Well here in New Zealand it is definately a barbeque so you could just claim kiwi impunity ;)

  • Cathy

Mr. OMSH – Take me for all I have – BUTT don’t take away my your hind-end. I would have nothing to goose.

I’m totally claiming Kiwi Impunity! Great idea Sarah.

Cathy and Friglet – thank you for the well wishes … Mother’s Day was fabulous!

Carol – yes, many days. Our summers are hot … the shade and the fan’s circulation will be a welcome reprieve.

frugalmom – you got it! JUST IN TIME FOR MOTHER’S DAY! Going to read!

  • Laura/PinkFontGirl
