…is NOT Folger’s in your cup. At least not here in OMSHville.

Last night, shortly before dinner the doorbell rang. Being fully clad in my crisp white shirt and pressed pants knit pajama bottoms and t-shirt, I answered it. The shocked look on the UPS gal’s face made me take a trip to the restroom to see what the fuss was about.

Oh.

Anyway….

A box had arrived! FOR ME! From SHANNON! A hundred things ran through my mind, but the most appropriate thing was…

“Would you could you IN A BOX…would you could you with a FOX?!!”

Dr. Suess would have been so proud.

Mr. OMSH got out our trusty kitchen scissors and cut into it.

What is this?

And once opened? Absolutely could not contain his glee. Where was I? Retracting my jaw from the floor.
OH MY STINKIN’ HECK! Would you just LOOK at all that coffee?

Mr. OMSH simply could not contain his glee.

“Beans, beans the magical fruit – the more you eat, the more you…”

Okay, maybe not.

It was just like a dream. The world around me faded into a nice Gaussian Blur and it was just me and the beans.

“I only have eyes…for yooooouuuuu!!”

Do you hear the chorus?

Oh, and YOU too Mr. OMSH. Always you.

While I was in la la land, Jeff got busy reading the packages.

We'll start with...

We settled on Caffe Verona BOLD. It smelled strong – heavenly even. A chorus poured forth from the bag as soon as Jeff opened it.

“Hallelujah! Hallelujah!”

The components to good coffee.

No time was wasted. From box to grinder to a slow, steady drip of freshly caffeinated opium glory.

Ground and ready.

More was ground for the next morning’s brew.

And when I finally was able to fall asleep at 2:30 this morning, I thanked my lucky stars that we don’t have roosters. Morning came early enough as it was.

Waking up.

After I watched the chickens a bit, I crawled out of bed and smelled the sweet rich aroma again. Oh yea, Caffeinated Squirrel…you hit the spot!

I’m not even a coffee drinker but that was fun to read/watch.

  • Jeanine

Your post put a huge smile on my face. It is so nice when adults get so excited over items too,

  • Shannon

See, I lik to give and reading that and knowing that you are in coffee bliss just makes my little heart pitter patter. Oh, wait is that a heart palp? Nope just the happiness I feel when I do a good deed.

  • Mr. OMSH

JEANINE….my response, in all honesty, was partially staged. Also, partially exaggerative. However, receiving a BIG BOX full of Starbucks beans was TOTALLY awesome.

You should’ve seen the pics that OMSH took of me that were not posted. GQ all the way.

  • Mr. OMSH

SHANNON–this household will ALWAYS accept your good deeds. We just don’t want you going into cardiac arrest over giving too much!

    Thank you so much.

  • Mr. OMSH

Does it appear that I am commenting too often?

Might be the caffeine surge I am experiencing right at this moment.

  • bethany actually

So you got a coffee mug and now coffee…I wonder what one of your lovely readers will send you next? :-)

  • Debbie M.

My niece just started working at Starbucks. How happy am I???

Kerri, you have always been my favorite! Really, you have…and it’s not just the coffee (and hot chocolate ) we got for Christmas talking!

Heather and Mr. OMSH…I am totally feeling you. Enjoy!

  • OMSH

Toni – It is totally one of mine now too! Strong, but not too strong. Rich, so very rich and smoooooth.

Laurie – Awwww…sorry, come over for a cup of joe, no?

Steph – AM DOING! BTW…have you received anything as of late for all your thumbnail work? In a small box perhaps?

Mr. OMSH – Staged? Whatever are you talking about?

bethany actually – Who knows, but I’m pretty well set for now!

Debbie M. – Ooooooh, I think I’d be visiting my “favorite” niece A LOT.

  • Aileen

I thought beans were the musical fruit?

Mmmm…. coffee.. first thing I’m doing after this baby is born is going to Starbucks and buying caffeine everything!

  • Kimmie

Yummmm… freshly ground coffee. There really is nothing like it.

You should try a French press. You think your coffee is good now? It is just SOOO much better in a French press. Try it, I know you’ll love it. ;o)

  • Steph

No, ma’am! But you have to remember that I live waaaaayyyyyy out in the suburbs of the suburbs of the suburbs. (Kind of like PW, except without the ranch and cows and wide open spaces. So, nothing like PW at all really.)

Mail, especially of the package variety, doesn’t always get here the same year month it was sent. And I’m DYING here!! I can’t wait to seeeeeeeeeeee! Jeremy, our beloved mailman, has his eye out even. LOL.

Oh. And still jealous over all that coffee.

  • Lisa C

I just love reading your posts! I get excited for you! :)

  • Shannon

Oh, I got like 4 french presses now. Want one of those too?

  • Shannon

Ok, Don’t know what a french press is? I photo journaled my french press this morning and is now on my flickr with instructions under Coffee set.

  • OMSH

Ooooh, I took the tour!!! Thanks Shannon!

  • Chris

You have no idea how envious I am. NO idea.

Second the French press comments. That lovely coffee needs to be treated in the best possible way.

Comment if ya wanna.
