The Perks of Baby Brewing
|10.Jan.2008Nearly every time a site I’ve worked on is completed there is a sense of pride. Not just because of my part specifically, but because of what was accomplished overall. I feel that way about Kristen’s site over at Baby Brewing.
Jessica and I worked on this together. She was, as always, the magnificent designer and I was the anal retentive, fill in the details, load up the text, edit the images gal; we compliment each other that way. Kristen supplied the product (der), text, direction and the vision – and believe me, the visionary is the most important person on the team.

At the moment I write this post the visionary is on a plane to LA to feature her products in a pretty swank show. I’m sure she’ll blog details of it later, so I won’t steal her thunder. Fellow creative,Jen (Kristen’s sister) went along with her – the two of them are rather like Laurel and Hardy, but y’know, with brains, boobs, and babies.
I had a good time editing these photos. Okay, so rounding and resizing a gazillion photos wasn’t like a night out with a movie and margaritas, but hey, it’s work. I had a good chuckle over a few of the Babies’ and Kids’ Tees. I especially liked when she caught the perfect expressions.
What mom isn’t familiar with this one?
And I’m pretty sure there were many times where I would have agreed with my little ones over this one. You and me both!
We’re still dealing with this one. I probably should get this tee for Kenny.
Not everything is for babies. She thinks of Mommy too. I’m not into Martinis, but change the word to Margarita and I would TOTALLY be all over this shirt.
And no, Kristen isn’t a drunken sot – she’s a momma with a sense of humor. We all need to laugh…it keeps us from crying. And for you pregnant mommies who know all about raging hormones and tears, as well as unwanted touches from strangers, she didn’t leave you out either.
Wish her well. Go and visit. Tell her she’s beautiful, smart and witty – we all like that.
You should so totally be blogging this.

Those shirts are AWESOME.
Almost makes me want to be pregnant again. OK, nothing could make me want to be pregnant again, but these would make great gifts!

This really is a nicely done site! Almost makes me wish I was pregnant so I could wear those shirts! Good job Heather (and Jessica).

She was so wonderful to give us each a shirt at a recent DC Moms meetup.
You all did a beautiful job, as always.

Great looking site!!
Steph
Gah. I wish I’d had that “Pat the belly” tee about 10 months ago.
Oh. My husband says I can’t visit here anymore. He says our budget cannot handle your blog. I say I’m NOT addicted to online shopping OR OMSH. I can quit whenever I want. I just don’t want.

Those shirts are great! I’m checking out her site now.

Wow, you did her site? I stumbled upon her through separate means (that I don’t exactly recall right now). “Mommy Needs a Cocktail” is my new rally cry – I have the T-shirt AND the shot glass. AND the Key Lime Pie Martini recipe! And Kristen? She is just plain hilarious. Excellent work, you kids!

I should get the blogging one. Thankfully, this pregnancy, no one has tried to pat my stomach. I think it helps that I growl when they get too close to me. :)
Lauren
The ‘Random Acts of Destruction’ was totally my brother as a child. If his baby to be comes out as a boy, I am so getting that shirt.
Aileen
Love the design Heather. Great work.

Angella – I’m with you – NOTHING makes me want to be pregnant again. I love the baby at the end, but I stay sick a good deal of my pregnancies. NOT FUN.
Steph – Tell your husband you MUST visit here…point out that you got some jewelry out of it! HA!
I bought “Random Acts of Destruction”, “You Talking to Me”, and “Do I look like I was born yesterday” for Kenny. :)
Aileen – That’s Jessica – she drew the illustration and created the amazing design.

What a cool project. Looks like such fun.
Hey, would you share how you round the photos? Thank you!
OMSH
Anna, if you’re wanting rounded corners on individual photos, there is a decent tutorial for that here.
