This spoke to me today.
|16.Sep.2008I love this group – Selah. I have no doubt that the Spirit just flows through their music and I believe that the members of this group live out the faith they sing. This video spoke to my heart today – hope it’ll speak to yours too.
You Raise Me Up
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
(Chorus)
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
There is no life – no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

OH I love this song. Thank you for the video. I love the beginning, but just something about Todd’s voice in the middle that makes me get goosebumps. The story behind what both he and Nicol are going through right now makes my heart ache. Thank the Lord they are Christians and know exactly where their babies are right now. Great way to start the morning Heather, Thank you!

I sang this as a solo at my church a year or two ago and although I do not consider myself a good singer I saw tears in several people’s eyes when I was done. That’s how powerful these words are and how much they speak to many.

I like Selah, but I have to admit that I like Josh Groban’s version better. Either way it’s a song of with a message we all need to remember. Thanks.
