You are my Sunshine

In case you haven’t noticed, I take pictures; a lot of pictures. It is one thing that my eyes seem most likely to do with any new scene before me – envision how it would look through a lens.

I’ve started loading my camera in the car with me when I make jaunts to the school to take the girls, to the school to pick them up, to the local grocery, to here, there, and everywhere.

Something always desires to be sealed into digital eternity.

That being the case, and me being a very unpolished photographer, I’m delighting in the Flickr Monthly Scavenger Hunt group. I spent 2 1/2 hours combing through their members’ images the other day. Yes, those hours could have been spent doing laundry, but who does laundry at 1:00 a.m. anyway?

Here are a couple I’ve posted to the January 2007 contributions. Maybe they’ll pick one of mine … just maybe.

The group moderator gives a word (actually 20 each month) and you define it in a photo.

I’m sorry about Tex; Wasn’t the other one Mex? We had one die three weeks ago and the other last week. OH, and the bird died the same day Harry was born. And two cats are needing to be put to sleep and I am putting it off. *sigh* children, pets, and death – it’s hard.

I like the PhotoFriday challenges. I’ll have to check this one out. and I think we have every single one of those books on our shelves too.

I’m so very sorry to hear about Tex! Poor little guy — I’m glad he had such a wonderful hamster life. And I’m glad you’re helping Em through the trauma. It’s rough when you’re that age — hard to figure out if it’s your fault!

Yes — I live in California and the spanking bill makes me want to hit the lawmakers! The polls show, thank God, that 75% of Californians are against that idiot piece of legislation.

You are a talented photographer, neophyte though you may be, and I love looking at your pictures!

Oh man SmockLady — I’m sorry to hear about that. Losing animals is second only to losing people. It’s damn hard.

Smocklady – Yes, Mex was the other one, but Mex died a LONG time ago. Mex belonged to Meredith. Meredith isn’t … um … really good about remembering to feed anything but her cat. And the reason she remembers her cat is because the cat is in her face and at her feet.

It sounds like you’ve got a lot of heartbreak going on over there.

Jessica – Neophyte? Yes, I would say so. I’m totally green about it all, but how I love a good shot!

Unfortuntely that’s what happens when all the animals are old together.
