It is SOOOOO Hard to Explain

Did I tell you we named our homeschool OMSH-ademics? We’re still pondering the switch to OMSH-ademia (and by “we”, I mean “me”)…I need to roll it around a bit more on my tongue to make sure it best “represents” the Sanders in the house…OH YEAH!

We used to just be The Sanders’ Academy, but that sounded entirely too uppity; we are far from uppity – more like educated rednecks (the scariest kind of redneck if I’m being honest).

ANYWAY…

We took a break from reading, writing and arithmetic to dance – yes, I said DANCE.

As is the case in most families, a few of us are more gifted than others. I’m the least gifted, hence my placement as the videographer. Kenny actually has a decent groove, but he twisted his ankle so we stuck him in a basket.

Yes, the boy on the left is in a basket.

Forgive the commentary, huckleberry cackle, and the random spurts of karaoke on my end. What can I say? I was “in” the moment.

For the record this is the only KE$HA song I approve of at this point. The girl has some fun songs, but the lyrics are typically below par (read: inappropriate from this momma’s point of view).

Hahaha! Physical education is certainly a part of any well-rounded academic endeavor.

I love that first picture. Hilarious.

We do nightly dance parties at casa Dykstra, too. It’s far too much fun NOT to.

  • Friglet

You know, I thought you’d have more of an accent!

  • Dad

I though you guys were Baptist. Baptist don’t dance … well I don’t (read … can’t). Nonetheless, whatever my grandkids want to do is OK by me. Nice to see so much energy so early in the morning.

Oh and Jamie … Mrs OMSH DOES have an accent (as in REALLY!). She was on her best behavior behind the camera.
